First voyage newbuild RT Tasman & RT Darwin with barge 'UR 171'

19th September last, KOTUG´s newbuilding RotorTugs RT Tasman and RT Darwin left from the ASL Shipyard in Singapore.

On its first voyage, RT Tasman departed from Singapore with her tow ‘UR 171’ for Ugland Construction AS accompanied by the RT Darwin. The two new build tugs carried out the towage of the barge from Singapore, via Cape of Good Hope to Stavanger.

After a voyage of 13.452 Nautical Miles, RT Tasman delivered the barge "UR 171" to its owners at the port of Stavanger on January 15th 2012.

After the delivery of the barge, RT Tasman moved to her new homeport: Bremerhaven in Germany. Sister tug RT Darwin arrived a few days before in Bremerhaven. Picture of the sistertugs made by photographer Christian Eckardt:
