Rotterdam
An innovative and dynamic Harbour
The port of Rotterdam is known for its efficiency and the speed with which goods are transported; attention is constantly being focussed on the service it offers its customers. Its geographical position on the New Waterway and the North Sea, its infrastructure, the hinterland within easy reach, its know-how, its technology and its fast, up-to-date service make Rotterdam the gateway to Europe. Approximately 35,000 seagoing vessels and 135,000 inland vessels call at the port of Rotterdam annually, making this port one of the busiest in the world. The towage companies, pilots, boatmen and the maritime information provider work 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, to organise all shipping movements. The complexity of shipping traffic requires optimal communication between the various nautical service providers and a perfect data flow. From our office in Rotterdam KOTUG serves the region Rotterdam – Dordrecht – Moerdijk.
2nd Maasvlakte: Efficiency with space, functionality and design
2nd Maasvlakte will offer 1,000 ha of modern industrial sites, located directly on deep seawater and with excellent connections to the hinterland. For companies that rely on sea transport, the situation could hardly be better. 2nd Maasvlakte will be accommodating three sectors: container transfer companies, the chemical industry and distribution companies. These sectors will need space the most urgently in years to come and stand to benefit the most from deep water. Thanks to its location directly on the North Sea and its deep port basins, Rotterdam is one of the few European ports where the largest ocean-going vessels can safely and swiftly load and unload 24 hours a day.
